Jason Koch

Chief Data & Analytics Leader | Enterprise Data Architect | Financial Services Technology Executive

Jason Koch is a transformational data and technology executive who has spent more than three decades designing, modernizing, and leading enterprise data ecosystems within complex financial institutions. With deep expertise spanning asset management, banking, risk, and enterprise platforms, Jason is known for building resilient data architectures that power strategic insight, operational efficiency, and measurable business value.

Jason currently serves as Director of Data Engineering at Champions Funding, where he is building Azure data platforms, operational monitoring, and governed delivery for a new line of business. Previously, he served as Manager of Data Engineering for DoubleLine Funds, supporting a $150B asset management platform. In this role, he led architecture, development, and production support across trading, accounting, and security master systems while guiding a distributed, multi-regional engineering team. His leadership consistently balanced long-term architectural vision with hands-on execution, enabling faster delivery cycles, improved data reliability, and scalable analytics capabilities.

Jason's impact is defined by modernization and innovation. He led the advancement of Microsoft Fabric enterprise capabilities, implementing lakehouse architectures, semantic modeling, API integrations, and Data Vault methodologies that significantly improved performance, data quality, and reporting latency. By transitioning legacy ingestion processes to dynamic API-based integrations, he strengthened data completeness and reduced operational risk exposure. His ability to evaluate emerging technologies, validate them through proof-of-concept testing, and deploy them at scale distinguishes him as both a strategist and practitioner.

Earlier in his career at Wells Fargo, Jason architected multi-terabyte risk data warehouses and led the design of comprehensive operational risk platforms that supported enterprise-wide risk identification, exposure analysis, and control effectiveness testing. As a Technology Manager and senior leader, he managed multi-million-dollar budgets, mentored technical teams, and aligned technology investments with long-term business strategy. His tenure at Bank One further reflects his enterprise scope, where he led large-scale system implementations, ERP deployments, infrastructure modernization initiatives, and customer service technology innovations that dramatically improved operational performance and client experience.

Jason's leadership style blends architectural rigor with calm decisiveness. He builds high-performing teams across geographies, fosters strong governance and data quality disciplines, and ensures that analytics environments are not only technically sound but strategically aligned. Certified in Microsoft Fabric Data Engineering and Data Vault modeling, and holding dual master's degrees in Business Administration and Information Management, he brings both business acumen and deep technical fluency to every initiative.

Looking forward, Jason is focused on enterprise data transformation at scale, particularly within financial services and complex regulated environments. He is driven by the belief that well-architected data platforms are foundational to innovation, risk intelligence, and competitive advantage. His mission is clear: design data ecosystems that empower leadership decisions, strengthen operational resilience, and position organizations for sustained growth in an increasingly data-driven world.

With rare longevity across architecture, engineering, risk, and executive technology leadership, Jason Koch delivers clarity to complexity and builds data foundations that endure.
